Pentac is an effective acaricide (miticide). It is a "wettable powder" that sticks to the leaf surfaces and kills spider mites. However, they lay hundreds or thousands of eggs that hatch in a few days, so you have to treat the plants several times to eradicate them, over the course of a couple weeks.

I usually spray Pentac as a preventative whenever there is a long hot, dry spell (spider mites love hot, dry weather), which usually means 2-3 times per year.
