Hello! I recently got a vft rescue and repotted it. I put it right outside with a tray of distilled water under it. But I noticed that some of the leaves are turning red? Is that the plant just getting used to the direct sunlight or am I killing it?

A photo would help. I think it’s fairly common for the inside of the traps to redden up. If the plant overall started out green on the outside and now it’s reddening up on the outside you might have an issue going on. Did you gradually introduce/acclimate it to the direct sun over a period of a week or so…giving it more direct sun every few days? The red plants that I’ve had all started out red as very youn plants, but I have had totally green plants take on varying degrees of redness, especially in the sun

Trust me they looked like this when I got them(droopiness) besides the redness.

Those look fine. Leave them outside in the sun and they'll come around. Expect them to decline a bit more, even the immediate new growth. But the growth that starts coming on in a couple of weeks will be nice.

It could well be sunburn, if the plant was bought as a greenhouse purchased plant it's never seen the direct sun before, so the old leaves will burn (produce anthocyanin as a defense to the sun). It's no biggie, just leave it where it is and all the new growth will be resilient and used to the sun, and indeed will be better for it!
Cheers

Yeah and for some reason the fly traps there were flowering so they must've been doing good there.

Flowering doesn't necessarily mean they're doing good. VFT's will flower as a last ditch effort to produce seeds, then die. That yours didn't die is a good sign, but flowers aren't always a positive sign.

I mean but they looked healthy though and had some massive traps. Definitely not a typical. Possibly b-52s or some other cultivar. I know that it still has to be called a typical because it has no tag though.

Is it just sunburn or do I have to worry?

That's sunburn on old, "help I need more light"-adapted leaves that can't handle the amount of sun the plant needs. I don't see anything concerning. It's probably going to look a bit sad for awhile, is all.
