To my knowledge ampullarias can get large but their vines can be cut back to keep the plant compact. To keep a terrarium warm I would use a heat pad of some sort placed below the tank to raise the temperature.

N. ampullaria can grow 30+ feet tall. Here is mine in a tall 6 sided tank. It’s the plant on the bottom left. It will outgrow this tank in a couple years probably.
