Edit: Can anyone tell me if my S. purp purp will be ok? It's pot froze solid yesterday. It slipped from my hands and crushed a soda can too lol
Yeah, that what I’m planning! During the winter months I put them under a covered area on my deck.

I think you should be fine actually. Sarracenia northwest keeps their temperates outside in kiddie pools year round and only put something over them if weather gets extreme.

"Crazy" is a relative term. Here is what's rolling into Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend:

For the metric people: on Saturday, the high will be 0.5°C, and the low will be -7.7°C.

Time to break out the cold frame and greenhouse heater. 4 days later, I can put them away.

Good, I figured they'd be fine being the northern variety.

These temperatures are bound to cause me some problems. I particularly like the rain followed by 3 days of freezing temperatures.

The extended cold is gonna be a killer down here, I'm afraid, we're not setup for this kind of weather down here. A couple of nights of below freezing temperatures, sure. But, not 5+ nights of it. Squirrels are feeding like crazy and a doe and two fawns were hoovering up water oak acorns yesterday afternoon behind the house.

Our temperature is already below zero with wind chill reaching below -20 tonight. :? I can feel the inside of my nose starting to freeze when I walk outside, and when the wind blows into your face, it burns. I wonder how people in Canada and Alaska live in this weather.

Fairly warm here this morning ... 33F with windchill making it feel more like 23F. Temps are expected to be a bit brisk Friday through Monday.

Same way as anywhere else in the Great White North, I imagine. Interestingly, to me at any rate, is that there are parts of Alaska and Canada that don't get very cold at all. In some areas of Canada folks can grow banana trees outside due to warm water currents along their coasts.

In any event, could be far worse. You could live here: https://weather.com/travel/news/breatht ... d-20140128

A friend of mine had a butcher shop years ago...that meat locker was cold.
Later, I went to a snow tire demonstration/test at Eglin Air Force Base just outside of Ft. Walton, FL it was pretty cold in there.
Then, a decade or so ago I went into the Artic room at the airport in Christchurch, NZ, that was pretty cold.
And back this summer my wife turned the AC down just a little bit too much...that was cold, too!

So, yeah, I've been where it's cold.
