Looks healthy, but does it feel healthy? It should be very firm to hard. If it's spongy or soft, you've got problems. Ship it to me and I'll find out. However, I'll be up front, I'll just say it was bad, and tell you I tossed it.

The problem is, it's almost impossible to tell from a pic unless you've cut into the rhizome. If you're unsure about the feel of it, slice into it with a clean knife. The interior of the rhizome should be white, maybe slightly off white. If it's brown, it has rot, and you should cut all of the rot off until you get to white.

It looks like it's already producing pitchers. Small starts, but still starts.
