Hey everybody,
I am new at growing VFT and just purchased a Towering Giant. I recieved my culture about 8 days ago and since planted it looks to being doing well and is healthy!!!

There are many traps on it and I have about 4-5 that have opened up.

I purchased the freezer mealworms and am just wondering when can I start feeding the small traps?
I tried tonight with two of the largest traps that have been open the longest and with prompting, the traps didnt close. Is it too soon??? When should they be able to close?

Thanks for any help and ideas.

I would let it settle in a bit more before you feed. Give it another 2-3 weeks and you should be good. Feeding stressed plant/ plants that are still adjusting will cause more stress than benefit.

Normally traps that are on the plant when it's in tissue culture aren't active or minimally work. Give it some time to grow new traps and then you can feed those. Most importantly, just give it good care (lots of light, distilled water, soil moist but not too wet, etc.) and it will grow quickly.
