i see so many mix's on so many sites.

i was preparing to repot gomez (nep gothica) into a larger pot with 50/50 peat silica mix. (same as all my cp's have)
i tried to find orchid potting mix yesterday, however they all contain "slow release fertilisers"

however i remove it from the small pot and find him growing in i think - orchid potting mix with some larger white silica or perlite type stuff.

i want it to get the best mix straight up rather than doing several repots.

is this pot too wide? and is the green stuff on the surface ok or should it be removed?

and whats the best care for baby neps.

i was thinking of putting them in the corners of my mini bog trough (50/50 peat silica) with the other cp's, or maybe give them gomez's old, smaller hanging pot but it seems massive for such little nep's?

thanks corky.

i just repotted it into peat/silica mix.

gomez had grown roots around every bit of its existing orchid bark mix.
it made it virtually impossible to get it out without damaging roots, so i loosened it all up a bit and then replanted in the bigger pots CP mix.
i figure he'll grow out into the rest of the soil anyway.

i put both baby nep's into the old pot gomez had. they fit quite nicely too.
