So I am more of the type that learns by doing rather than reading too much. Since I had really good luck in leaf/pulling propagation, 6 of 6 thus far I figured I will try my luck at TC. I would like to but a "kit" so to speak where everything is bought from one or two places. I tried the link from Flytrap store's recommendation, Kitchen Culture Kit but it no longer exists. Does anyone have any advice as to where I should get started?
Would this be a good media to start with? https://www.amazon.com/Cloning-Tissue-C ... 8YTD&psc=1

Thank you. I have just tried my first hand at TC. I bought some Flytraps from Walmart, which they say are DCXL. I will wait and see. I also bought from Crazy Craig on eBay. I got 2 for one with plenty of traps to work with. I want to see just how viable I am at doing this before going all in and buying a bunch of stuff I will never use!!

I've seen those polypropylene containers in videos, but I worry about how well they keep contamination out. Do they seem secure in your experience?

The PP takeout containers work great for me in keeping contam out. My only issue is it's a bit hard to open one-handed since it's so secure, but certainly better than getting contamination.

So far so good. I opened once to get my first batch potted up. However, my bad for not having it in a sterile area to do it in. I have a Still Air Box with built in fan that will be here today. If I lose the first I have a second to play with. I want to start my own eventually so I am buying items a little at a time so as not to break the bank all at once only to find nothing I am doing is working.

Wait. Why would a still air box have a built in fan??? It's literally called a still air box for a reason.

Yeah I can tell you that fan makes no sense  they put it there with some sort of assumption you're going to grow plants directly inside it, which is another - just wrong marketing move by some of these Chinese companies.

You're best off not using that fan and just sealing that area off.

Ventilation is the opposite of what you want in a still air box.
