Evenwind, I am only submitting the top picture for the contest, as stated in the post, so do I still need to delete the other picture? Like I stated in the post, it was only added to share with and show everyone this unheard of growth rate for this species.

Here is my royal poinciana tree (Delonix regia), up close. If you have never seen one in full bloom, you may not understand why it's called "Flamboyan" in spanish.

I don't have much of a green thumb with things other than carnies. What we do grow around here is a teenage daughter, 3 horses, 2 dogs, and a stray cat who is insistent that he live inside.

She sure thinks she is. I can't keep her out of the water trough. And our oldest horse, who isn't pictured, likes to stand in the trough and throw the water out with his nose. I don't know how we got all of these crazy water critters!
