Sadly, I made 2 mistakes after repotting my VFTs. The weird thing is that it affected the larger plants more than the small ones.

1. Brought the pot inside to avoid a last possible frost over night.
2. Did not water enough and went away for 3 days.

I'll post the photos later when I have some time - probably tomorrow morning.

Some leaves blackened and some dried out. :(

Well, they're not dead, so I'm happy I didn't lose any plants.

Ok, here's the damage. I also forgot to mention that I put the pot next to my grow lights, which was a mistake judging by the amount of burn on those leaves!

Ouch, what kind of growlight do you have?

it's a 40 Watt 14K light. Pretty strong. Going from the 6 degrees celcius outside temp to a 27 + temp under that light probably was too much of a shock. If I just put the pot inside on the floor next to the sliding window, it would have been all good.

The new shoots should adapt to your lighting conditions.

As you can see in the photos, the small plants did a lot better than the large ones. The plants are back outside now anyway.

They look OK, Adam. They look a little wet though. You might want to keep them moist, not soggy all the time. You didn't use any weird water or growing medium, did you? If not, then it's not chemical (dissolved minerals) burn, which can look similar.

Just let the traps slowly blacken until they are dry(ish), then clip the black portion of the leaves off. The growing centers of most of the plants look OK, so that's what you need to watch. If they continue to look good (the new emerging shoots) then the older leaves, as they die back, will yield their nutrients (so it always seems to me) to the part of the plant that all the leaves share underground, and from that to the new shoots.

So all is not lost. :D Just don't panic and let the plants recover while you conservatively adjust their growing conditions.

They will remain outside. If there is going to be one more freeze, I'll move them inside over night in the coldest part of my house :D

They can go back outside for the day then..

If it's fairly cold outside (or inside on the floor next to the large window), that would be a good reason to try to keep them just evenly moist, instead of wet for long until the weather warms up. Also, as you probably know, Venus Flytraps often sacrifice some of their oldest leaves when they are transplanted. This (so it seems to me) keeps them from being overstressed by trying to support too much top growth with roots that are not yet accustomed to the new growing medium.

So once again, no need to worry too much. :)
