do you guys still think i should let the plant flower? im a patient person but idk.

you don't have a choice at this time anymore. It's pretty much grown the whole flower stalk. You would gain very little by snipping it at this point..

what if i just cut it off? and throw it away?
im just wondering if it was a good thing to let it flower.

I don't think I would have allowed that Flytrap to flower and set seed until perhaps next year after a good growing season. But that's just my opinion, and I have plenty of robust, mature plants to put into seed production, so that would influence my decision.

As Adam mentioned, the plant has already expended the food and energy to create a more or less fully formed flower stalk. But it's still fine to cut it near the base and throw the flower stalk away. This will save the plant the additional expense of flowering and packing some of its stored nutrition into the seeds. So yes, just cut it off and throw it away if you like. It won't harm the plant to do so. :mrgreen:

it may be worth while cutting it up into 2" segments and planting each segment 1" deep in the same pot. Make sure you keep them up-right! .. It won't hurt to try. Then give it lots of good direct sunlight and you may have new plants on the way a couple of months from now!
