Just a few short notes on proper containers:

1) Make sure you can see into the (expletive) things. I managed to get specimen cups that were so frosted on the outside that it's difficult to track any changes going on. Even worse, I bought some ball jars that are embossed with a design that distorts the interior. I'm working with seeds quite a bit right now and I can't tell if they are (more expletives) germinating.
2) I know this is difficult when you purchase online, but try to make sure that the lids are easy to put on. The tops of those specimen jars have too much flex and continually cross-thread. It's very difficult to get a sanitary seal.

I bought condiment cups on Amazon I believe. They are going to be for stratification and maybe other stuff. I haven’t tried working with seeds yet but I likely will around next week start a proper try. You can get a (expletive) lot of them for cheap too lol. Good luck :D

He's talking about tissue culture, which is a leap beyond seeds. It can be very rewarding, but requires a meticulous focus to not fail spectacularly.
Actually, with your OCD mind, you might like it.

Oh dang, I always just jump from the bottom of the page and read stuff, I never noticed it says the forum on top lol. I feel silly now…although I’m not sure there’s been a time on here when I haven’t.

And yeah I saw people talking about it but I figured since it was beyond seeds I probably shouldn’t even bother looking yet, but I would 100% love something that was about CPs that required that kind of commitment. Considering how often my OCD nature goes into thinking my plants have something wrong with them every 5 seconds because I spend so much time looking at them and notice changes that are probably insignificant, they’d probably appreciate me devoting time to something else as well.

As soon as I make my little cold room for dormancy in the basement I’ll have money to devote to whatever kind of stuff this witchery demands. And I will have tried my hand at seeds by then as well. Thanks for the suggestion boss man :D

Time, patience, space and money. All are required for TC. I am a long way from an expert but I have been dabbling a little with it. I just do not currently have the space.

I’m not sure how much space is needed, but maybe when I make my cold room for dormancy I can make it a bit bigger. Thanks for the information :D

Plants In Jars on youtube. This girl has it down and explains how to build a TC Lab. I would highly recommend joining her channel. Very knowledgeable .

I've had really good results with these glass jars from Uline paired with lids from Phytotechlabs
https://www.uline.ca/Product/Detail/S-2 ... ars-16-oz
https://phytotechlab.com/closure-round- ... 89-mm.html

About $2/vessel

Ive also use the polycarb vessels and lids from Phytotech but I've gotten higher levels of contam with those and always eventually gotten contam in those if I left the cultures for too long.

When I need to, I convert my dining room to my TC room. I've got to be able to break it all down as situations and holidays approach. My holidays really start when I spread plastic drop cloth over everything.

Awesome thank you! I’ll be making that room big enough for a patio table plus some for this year’s plants to chill in literally lol. And next year at some point I’ll be working on the root cellar in my house when I move back. Might expand the cold room here too. Easy way to keep a sterile area too for emergencies. :D
