Hello!

I have discovered that about half of my plants are suffering from flat mites. One solution which seems to work very well is spraying them with sulfur once every week or every other week for over a month. From what I've read, it seems you can get away with spraying the plants, leaving it on for an hour or two, and then rinsing them off.

Obviously, none of the plants I read about were vfts or any other carnivorous plant which are sensitive to these sorts of things. I'm wondering if I could try to implement this method without harming them if I do a very thorough rinse after each treatment. Any advice is appreciated!

I tried sulfur on some of my plants in an effort to treat mold (not quite the same, I know) a few years back, and if memory serves, found that it caused no serious problems on seedling VFTs, or Sarrs, but my baby Drosera were not too fond of it. Sorry, but I don't remember which Drosera I was treating. For anyone interested, it didn't seem to help too much with the mold, but maybe I should have tried it stronger, who knows?

sundews react bad to everything i know of . If you dome them sulfur will have less of a bad effect.

Thank you for the replies! I don't have any sundews (yet... :D) thankfully but I just wanted to be sure repeated sprays of sulfur won't cause any mineral burn and the like on my vfts trying to get rid of these things.

You can use a sulfur fungicide on flytraps. I use it half strength for gray mold when taking out of the fridge for re-potting. I always get a LITTLE bit of gray mold but it doesn't seem to bother the plants at all. The sulfur knocks it right down.
