Now that I’ve gotten Lionel Ritchie playing in the minds of our older forum members, allow me to introduce this month’s contest. This month we celebrate the sultans of sticky, those gummy gangsters, the titans of tacky. This category is open to any carnivorous plants that use a glue like substance to trap their prey; Drosera, Byblis, Drosophyllum, Pinguicula, etc.

And what would a sticky contest be without a sticky prize? This month @Matt and Leah from The Flytrap Store are providing us with a Drosera Capensis Giant. There has recently been a thread on giant capes, so it will be neat to see how this one stacks up.

Our standard rules apply:
  1. You can submit 1 photograph for this contest.
  2. It must be your own picture.
  3. Pictures shared in previous contests are not eligible.
  4. Minimally edited photos only. No effects, filters or collages. Cropping is okay.
  5. The winner will be the entry with the highest number of thumbs up (likes) votes.
  6. Only votes from members with at least 5 posts will count.
  7. Members who have won within the past three months are not eligible for prizes but you can still enter.
  8. This contest is open internationally.
So get some pics of those sticky beauties and share them with us!

I've posted lots of pics of sticky plants over the years (it's kinda my thing) so I thought I'd show something bit different. I bought a Ping "Johanna" recently and as usually happens, I had to remove the bottom leaves in order to get the roots in contact with the medium. Well, waste not want not, so I planted those loose leaves...
