Where are you in Louisiana if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Opelousas, LA.

We got an Opp nearby, an Opelika, an Oneonta, but we ain’t got no Opelousas. I really don’t think we’ve got any kind of’lousases around here. But, I’m new around here so I could be wrong. LA is in the foothills of the foothills of the foothills of the Appalachian mountains and home of the Gotchu bird.

Wow! I grew up and spent most of my young life just a few miles away from Harvey. My wife and I moved away from the New Orleans area after Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.

The Gotchu bird is in between the size of a turkey buzzard and a large barn owl, or thereabouts. Hawks don't have anything to do with a Gotchu bird! A grayish, stealthy color and they never make a sound that I've ever heard. They could take animals as big as kid goat. My sister has a small little poodle/? hybrid  and lives over in Columbus, GA, right across the river/state line. She takes her dog(?) out to a park over there to play and run around but she had to be careful for a while because of a report of a Gotchu bird apparently roosting somewhere close by.
