To be fair, when I went down to take this pic I noticed that the thermometer on the bottom shelf where they have been is only at 64 f which I’m sure is not helping.

Those little "paddles" look much like the handful in my pot. Yes, they certainly are slow growers.

I'll be back in 6 months, I just sowed mine!

See, I am just too old to do that. I am patient, to a point but at my age I like to be able to see results fairly soon. I don't mind having to wait 6 to 8 weeks before sowing seeds after cold stratification but that usually helps speed up the process. My seeds normally start germinating or showing some signs of life within about 2 weeks after sowing as the lights are on 22 hours a day. I have an S.rugelli, a couple S.oreophila's and an S.catsebei that I decided to leave in my grow tents until this spring to see how they would do. The 2 S.oreophila's and S.catsebei are doing great. The S.rugelli is doing great also and has even sprouted a bud, which I was not expecting. I am going to use it as a test subject for creating seeds since I have never produced seed before.

Hi all. Looks like the U. alpina is finally growing! The largest leaf in the pic has been there for several weeks but the rest popped out over the past few days. There are a couple more single leaves coming up as well. I'm giving the pot lots of light and was considering a spritz of diluted Maxsea, but I don't want to take chances on burning it.

I don’t want to be that person however it’s seems you may have a type of fern. I could be completely wrong though. This is a picture of my pot.

Hmm, it could be. I have a pteris fern and a Jersey fern in the same room with the alpina pot that I grew from tiny sprouts. Neither of them had juvenile leaves that looked anything like the ones in the pic. These are much thicker and don't have the characteristic frilly edges that the juvenile fern leaves had. Time will tell!
One other observation: both of the ferns send up coiled "fiddlehead" fronds when new leaves sprout up.
Here's an early pic of the Jersey Vern's first growth. The stone in the pic is about 1.5" in length.
