Hi all, Can anyone identify what this is that has sprung up next to my Dingley Giant? It appeared about 2 weeks ago and doesn’t look like another trap to me?.. 🤷‍♂️

Looks like a type of binata. But one that size is going to be from the cutting that was put into the media, but is now that dried up stem going off to the side. However, that center part is the hibernaculum of a binata, so it's been there much longer than two weeks.
On a different note, share a pic of the entire VFT. From the first picture, it looks like it might have settled too deep and needs some adjustment.
On a third note, those small leaves are a Utric, probably bismaquata.

A Binata? It must have been hiding in there when I bought the VFT last year.. Never noticed it. I’ll take a bonus freebie CP though.. 😃 And yes the VFT is too deep but it’s getting repotted sometime in March so I’ll sort it then.. Cheers for the response 👍

It isn't hard for them to hide. Last year, I got a bare-root Sarracenia flava. I potted it up and put the plant out with my others. A few months later, I spotted a Drosera binata growing in the pot, next to the rhizome. There must have been a piece of root stuffed in with the flava's, and I didn't notice it.
