Hi all,
I use ice packs to cool down my small tank of heliamphora and orchids at night, and today one of the ice packs split open. The liquid inside went into the water layer in the bottom of the tank, which i keep just below the bottom of the pots, and thus caused it to rise up and make contact with all of the plants. Is there anything in the ice packs that would be a problem for the plants? They are standard shipping ice packs used to ship food that have a gelatin like liquid inside, but the exact ingredients aren't listed. They are not the instant freezing type. I have flushed out my plants but I hope I don't have to spend the whole day repotting them...

There are multiple varieties of cold packs/ice packs, and they're likely ti have different ingredients. You would have to research the exact brand and type of the pack, maybe even call them and ask, to find out for sure what was in them. However, they may not tell you.
Otherwise, just watch them for changes.
