FYI - Sarracenia oreophila is under CITES protection. It's illegal to sell them across state lines. You'll have to do one of these:

• Find someone in your state who's selling them
• Find someone who'll ship one to you for free

It took me a long time to finally get some.

So where do you find the info for what is protected? I was aware that as a whole Sars are dwindling but I never knew of the "Protected species". That is just too bad it came to that.

Sarracenia alabamensis, jonesii, and oreophila are CITES-protected species. However, hybrids of these plants are not.

Yea, I just took a look at the CITES site. Quite confusing as to how to tell which are on the list.

Interesting, I'm not well acquainted with Sarrs. The items on my "want" list are just pictures I saw that looked cool, not actually plants I'm planning on buying any time soon. ty for the info

It took me a long time to finally get some.

I have a couple that were gifted to me by the VP of NASC. It is my understanding that they can be gifted but the receiver can not know about it. Also, I am getting the 3 most endangered ones from Matt. He is sending me the appropriate paperwork to go with them. My aim is to assist in getting these species off the endangered list. It most likely will not happen any time soon, but one can help.
