So living in the PNW, we have long drawn out gloomy days throughout the winter. Usually not seeing the sun for several months. Some of my plants require a cool/cold dormancy. I want to use my garage and I have one south facing window. However, there is a large tree in the way and light is dim at best. It is however cool enough to provide the winter dormancy needed. I am wondering if I should place one of my grow lights at low power so as not to heat anything up but provide the proper lighting for the needed daylight hours.

During dormancy, they're sleeping and don't need light. I put mine in my insulated, but unheated and windowless garage for the winter.
In fact, here's a pic of my plants during dormancy.
