The new leaves on one of my VFT's are red, and I'm wondering if that's normal or if they're red from too much sun. And this same flytrap also has brown spots all over it. Would those be from spider mites?

The color is fine. I don't see anything that indicates spider mites. It does look like it is either overwatered or there is mineral build up in the soil. What is the soil, and how are you watering it?

Anything to help the sphagnum moss to drain? When you top water, afterwards do you leave it standing in water and if so, how deep? Filtered water...there's a lot of filtered water that isn't suitable for flytraps and sundews and... How is it filtered?
