So I found some nice veitchii and I might get two for future breeding purposes. I just don't know what the second one should be.

What do you guys think? This won't be the deciding factor, but I just want to have some opinions and thoughts.

Images for the plants can be found in this link. Just make sure to scroll down a few posts:

I've already (sorta) decided on veitchii (k)1 x (candy striped x candy) for $80. When you vote, keep in mind that I'm 13yo and don't have much money

Yeah, I've looked at rob x veitchiis but I still think pure veitchii is better.

I've seen those too, but I'm looking for veitchii that I can use for breeding. Their veitchii aren't very striped and wouldn't be great breeding material.

Do you know if they are male or female? If you plan to spend money and want to use them for breeding, then you should at least know that, more than the cost of them.

That is the problem. I don't know. They are SG from Mike Fallen.

Yeah, well seed-grown are kind of like people. You may have both parents with blond hair and you get red because your grandfather’s mother had it 100 years ago. Recessive genes and traits are unpredictable. So when you cross two veitchii that look nice, and get 100 seeds, only 3 may be what you want. When you vegetatively propagate that one plant into a cultivar then you have what you are after. If someone sells you the seeds from that same mix, you never know what you will get. Hence why I think it is always better to buy what you want.

Yes, I would love to get what I want, but a striped, squat veitchii is usually very expensive and way out of my budget.

Understood. Just trying to help you focus on what you’re really after. As you get older you start to realize time is money. When you’re young, you have time (hopefully) to grow and experiment and hope for good return. When you age and get older, hopefully you can trade some of the money for things that buy you what you want, “now,” as you may not have another 20 or 30 years to wait. It’s just a transformation I am sure some others on this forum have experienced, not only for this hobby, but for other things in life. Enjoy the journey !

No, the parents have stripes and the older seedlings have stripes. Here's a picture of some older seedlings and it looks like most if not all of them atleast have some striping.
