ImageHello FlytrapCare Forums :)
I previously thought my Sarracenia was a purpurea, but I'm not entirely sure now, can someone ID it by these two pictures?
And based on the pictures, is it repotting time? I've already repotted it once this year but this guy keeps growing!

Little edit: I confused purpurea for the hybrid name. I wanted to know if any of you knew the hybrid name

This definitely looks like a sarracenia purpurea (probably subspecies venosa) and not a hybrid.

And also you should wait until the next spring when it starts to wake from dormancy to repot it. I don’t think it’s a good idea to repot it in the fall because it will go dormant soon (like in a month).

100% purpurea. Probably purpurea spp. venosa. Wait until winter to repot. The latest time to repot is April-May and the earliest November-December

That's a very nice pitcher plant! It looks like a Sarracenia purpurea subspecies venosa to me. You'll know for sure when it blooms: red flower on a tall stalk = purpurea; pink flower on a short stalk = rosea.

Most Sarracenia don't understand boundaries. I've seen plants crack the walls of thin nursery pots. I would put that plant in a pot that's at least 50% larger, to give it room to grow undisturbed for a couple years.

If you need to do a full soil refresh, then winter dormancy is the best time to repot. I live in eastern North Carolina, and my plants spend the winter outdoors. I try to do my repotting from late-January through mid-March, weather allowing.

If you don't need to replace the soil, then you can repot Sarracenia any time of the year by doing a slip pot. Panman has an excellent how-to post about this.
