I originally got 1 of these as drosera adelae giant but they seem to have grown out of control... i'm having doubts that this is even the giant form.
anyone know?

I think it's the giant form. Adelae is known for dividing a lot.

It doesn't look like it from the pictures, the Giant form has REALLY long and slightly wider leaves.

Absolutely possible it's 'giant' imo. I have a couple potfuls whose mother plant came from a very trusted source and if anything their leaves are even thinner and only the largest of my plants have leaves longer than yours. Also definitely possible it's still a typical: I'm not saying it's not a typical, just that until someone more experienced chimes in then to me it's not NOT a 'giant'. Also, it's really no surprise they'd be smaller with that many to a pot. From what I've read, generally for the largest specimens you want them mostly isolated and in deep pots - which so far tracks with my experience and the example tpg posted above.

Conditions will change how adelae looks so much. I've grown my largest adelae under cool temps and very high humidity. Lower light is necessary as well. One of the best distinguishing factors of "giant" adelae is its unique, pale flowers compared to the famously red flowers of the "typical" variety.

P.S.- the leaf color notes in that video aren't really reliable if you're not growing both forms, since lighting conditions influence the color of adelae way more than anything genetic.
