A. titanum, yes I know it's a ticking timebomb. It's my incentive to move out of the desert in the next 10 years.

Personally, I would say the genus name is more the "funny" aspect -- "Amorphophallus" = misshapened penis. (Who says botanists don't have a sense of humor?

) Another amusing plant name, IMO, is that of one of the Tillandsia species I grow. The name has always struck me as one inspired by the disco era ... T. funckiana.

I was saying both the genus and species together, but on their own, yeah the genus is funnier
