We do, on occasion, get bales of the NZ LFS that are very fresh off the boat from New Zealand, hasn't completely dried out yet, and sometimes will start to grow. But most of the time it has been dried for too long for the sphagnum to come back to life.

I've actually gotten this stuff to start growing again:

Well, I tried and failed. But now in one of my pots it has indeed started to grow again (or sprouted from spores, don't know which). And I've kept a bunch of it in one of these:

This has also started to show signs of life.

But it took nearly a year, I think.

I have had the dried New Zealand come back to life. I think it was zoomed? I did it by accident. A container with LFS with water . fell behind my grow chambers and had color and new sprouts! Kinda cool:)
