Sarracenia Northwest is selling this plant, and I've found little info on it. One page I found that talks about pinguicula from this region says it needs a completely dry watering period in the winter (as long as there's 80% humidity). I was wondering if anyone had this plant or knew it and could tell me the watering needs?

Hum. I haven't found much info on it either however I can safely confirm that it is a mexican pinguicula. They should be kept damp during winter, not completely dry (although if you find the soil does dry out it shouldn't harm the plant too much).

Humidity... that's never been an issue with my own pinguicula although I do know some species require specialist care. If you keep humidity high during winter it can lead to all manner of fungus, mould and rot as it reduces evaporation levels.

You can find more info on mexican pinguicula dormancy here:

I'll keep an eye out for more info regarding this particular plant.

I got a 'Tehuacan' from sarracenia northwest about 6 months ago. It is a beautiful plant that few have making it unique. I would recommend it, although mine is producing weird leaves right now. Either way, I would get it because it is a beautiful plant and has a huge advantage in trading if you want to propagate it.
