Hey guys,

I just wanted to get a check up for my D. regia. If I remember right, I think the red spots needs the plant hasn't been fed in awhile. I gave 3 leaves some rehydrated blood worms, but he hasn't really wrapped around them yet.

Conditions:
72-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day
~65 degrees Fahrenheit at night
65-75% humidity during the day
80-89% humidity during the night

Watering:
Keeping water in the tray not quite topped off.

Also, in the last pic, I think that's a tiny baby D. regia!

I figure out the issue: too much water. I should let the try dry out before I water again. Just dumped the water out of the tray and treated the medium with diluted hydrogen peroxide to deal with any potential bacteria that could lead to root rot.

I might run to Walmart to see if I can find a better pot (the ones I have are a bit too large for the size the plant is right now) and some larger bags to repot the King in and give him the humidity treatment.

I probably didn't need to but I went and repotted the big guy and the tiny one. The bigger ones roots were starting to stick out of the old pot. The medium is peat, perlite, sand and chopped LFS. I added 6 small Osmocote "Indoor and Outdoor Plus" pellets into the medium, as apparently they like some nutrients in their medium.

The cabinet has a high enough humidity that I probably don't have to bag them, but I will monitor these guys over the next few weeks. As you can see, the big guy was looking a little rough.

Well no one died over night, so that's a relief! Obviously not as gooey from being move but everything is looking stable. Hopefully the bigger pot will encourage some growth, too.

I shouldn't worry too much since I know these guys are hardy and I'm giving them the conditions they need.

If you don't mind me asking. Where did you hear that the red spots on the leaves means it hasnt been fed in a while? My indoor regias also have these red spots and I associated it with stress of some sorts.

I grow mine in these conditions:
75 during the dayu with 75% humidity
62 at night with 75% humidity
Light is on for 13 hours 50 minutes

Hmmm...now that I think about it, I'm not entirely sure. So I'm probably wrong about that.

My narrow leaf has red spots. I believe its normal when they have enough sun and..?
Yours, to me do not look real healthy, lack of dew, compared to mine.

It's actually really dewy, it was only the leaves that were dying off that weren't as or weren't at all dewy. It didn't like the pot transfer, but it's in recovery. Lots of new leaves coming up. Just gotta be patient.

Luckily I watered not long after taking that picture. :P Those big pots are a little strange to water, but the mix including some LFS with the peat helps keep it moist. I'll see in the next few weeks how the new leaves develop, but the new ones are really dewy.
