A Phalaenopsis? Otherwise, there's something like 20,000 species and probably thousands more hybrids to choose from. But if you're just talking about a typical Phal, you can start here https://www.orchidweb.com/phalaenopsis-orchid-care

Can't help you much there. From what I remember, they really want to be mounted and I never had good facilities for maintaining mounted orchids. Good luck.

A couple of my phals in bloom. My main advice is don’t over water. Mine are in bark, perlite, and clay balls. I water every 5 days soaking for 5 min. Lightly fertilize while watering with orchid fertilizer for 3 weeks then flush with just water the fourth week. They are in a west facing window that has a porch roof over it and get direct sun after about 4 pm each day.
