Is anyone selling basals or anything? Have heard they are a little easier than hamata so potentially interested. Thanks!

I thought about the same thing. Now this is only from one place, but Carnivero told me that hamata x eddy is the same, if not harder then hamata in their conditions.

Interesting, I talked with cross exotics and he said he keeps his wistuba clones in intermediate.

I think carnivero is seed grown stuff?

Wow, that went quick. The only thing I can think of now is that BoExotica has 2 up, a bit overpriced though.

Nepenthes diary has documented her Hameddy for a little while, no update since 2020 though, understandable with covid and all.

Yeah, maybe it's just a specific fussy plant. I thought Carnivero had a TC lab?

Thanks for that link, Camden

Yeah I debated buying for the last week, tbh I really want a hamata I think they are the best, but I just don’t want something that fussy. I think I put it in my cart 3-4 times over the last week, and ofc the time I actually go to pull the trigger it gets sold 🤣 it wasn’t meant to be!

They do, they have posted a couple things to Instagram about it, it looks awesome. I don’t really know much about their ham eddy, I think most of that particular hybrid look pretty similar though so hard to tell

I haven't found hamata to be very fussy, but I suppose it depends on the conditions and the individual plant. Mine has been growing steadily since I got it, a bit slow but consistent. I also think they're generally cheaper (?)

Which hamata do you have? 3380? I had aw 3 and I killed it either from overwatering / root rot, or I let the humidity go to 50% for 3 days on accident. Not sure which. I get 10 degree temp drops 81-71 nightly, so could even be that 81 is too high.

81 is not too high, trust me, outside in the heat of the summer it got to 114F and it just battled through it all. My temps & RH were very similar to yours around the same time I decided to start acclimation. On the windowsill/house my temps are around a constant 70F and 50-60 RH. Mine is AW 1, so not too far off. I don’t think it would have been humidity that killed since, again, mine seems pretty resilient to low RH. I don’t let the growth point get wet but I do soak it from time to time. Hope this helps :)

Enough for me to give it another go, definitely a big thanks. I suspect the overwatering because I did see some of that brown algae that grows on top before the descent and root rot. But hard for me to tell as I’ve still got a bit to learn. I had it in a solid pot, and the rest of my neps are in net pots which seem to work really well for me.

Mine is BE, not 3380, I think it's 4044, which isn't one particular plant as far as I know. I've been very cautious with it, I must say, and so I have no experience hardening it off. It gets 75 in the day, 64 at night. Very high humidity. So far it's not big or fast growing enough for me to consider moving it to the windowsill.
