I’m growing it indoors so it’s not necessarily a good comparison for outside conditions in NC regardless of latitude :D
I suspect that nutrients, tds, and ph might have more to do with how well it grows rather than just latitude or temps. Maybe someday I’ll have it figured out but not yet!
Pic of my basement trays under crappy florescent grow lights- I think the tray on the left is mostly eBay moss. Photo is washed out- it has more color than it shows here.
Other photos are a couple small pots that are under better lights with my drosera.

Yeah, indoors versus outdoors are two different things. Mike doesn't let his live the pampered life. :mrgreen: Nice looking moss, btw! :)

Do you have a substrate for the moss or just growing bare moss?

Just sphagnum. I’ve had the best results with bundles of moss packed in small trays so it’s self supporting and upright. If the stems are too thin or too short I’ll wrap the bundle of stems in dead sphagnum to add some mass and hold more moisture.
