what do you think ping's will grow on or in !! well from my experience just about any thing, except coco chips !! they died in that ?? I have had them growing on my bench stand, strait on the wood, in sand on the floor on the small green house , in live sphagnum moss. in Adelaide hills soil , peat and sand and now in gravel on the floor of the large green house these are P.sethos , these over grew out of these pots fell on to the gravel and started growing there quite amazing !!

thats some strange stuff, for sure.

"what should i grow my pings in"

(john replies) "ive got some growing in driveway gravel, just dont use the oily bits" ;)

john gave me some nice ping sethos, one of them wasnt even planted and was growing like a 5 sided ping dice.
all the roots tied in a tiny ball in the centre, all leaves pointing outward, so to sit it down on soil meant having at least one plant face down in dirt, with roots always in the air.
surprisingly it grew fine like that till i cut the roots to seperate them.
they all grew fine when planted properly, and some of the leaves that broke off were planted and even they grew !

mine are growing close to T8 fluro's, and every day i get home from work and check them, and see the flowers actually hugging onto the fluro tube. so i turn em away, and the next day theyve turned back to touch the fluro again !!

people always comment on how cute it looks, and its just opening its 3rd flower now and theyre identical to johns, pictured above.

i have several pings, i accidentally broke a leaf or two off when replanting it.

so i put that broken leaf onto live sphag, a light mist of water everyday..
and another leaf in the "floating" method

and one month later, the one in live sphag has a little ping growing at the base of the old leaf, with about 4 baby leaf's :)

the one in the "floating" method isnt really doing much.
