How is it possible for a flower stalk to have roots and start growing? Why can't you just have whole the flower stalk live in the soil if it can produce roots anywhere on the stalk? So confusing!

The plant wants to do everything to survive...
it that means grow itsself all over again from a small part... then it will.

Not that a plant has a will of its own, but the entire explanation would be to complicated..
