Hey, everyone. I bought this Ping recently, but have not been able to id it successfully. If someone knows what species it is, please share. Thanks! Also, it has a few leaves now with browning margins. What does that indicate? Water, light, temp or all of the above?

This last image is the one showing the brown margins (compared to the first picture)

If these images are too big, I can change them! :D

I am 100% sure it is a Pinguicula primuliflora. Nice plant by the way. Well if your in the northern hemisphere than it might be going into dormancy. I think it looks fine, it is just the leaves getting old probably. I don't think you have to worry

That was a great guess though, and I see were you were going because of the leave shape.

The most important thing for identifying plants are the flowers. You may have not looked at the flower of the P. grandfloria but it looks like this.

Here is a good place to figure out different species and such. It has really helped me. http://cpphotofinder.com/
CPgrower wrote:Actually, working off that suggestion and The Savage Garden, I believe it is a Pinguicula primuliflora! Does anyone want to verify or know why it is getting brown edges? Do these leaves die off like many of the other types of CP's.
I am glad you used your resources to figure out the species. It was good that you asked other people if they agreed too! ;) I love The Savage Garden and it is a great book for growing CPs.
