Anybody plan on viewing it either in a partial or the totality?

I'll be outside with some of the little bad-asses, um, middle school students when it reaches maximum here, so I'll get to see it. We'll get ~ 97% of totality.

We get 20% if we get to see at all due to forecast of clouds. Take some good pics for those of us that will not be able to see it please.

We'll get a partial eclipse down here in south Alabama with some hazy skies. Should definitely see a dimness over the land. I recall one when I was (much) younger, must of been in 1970 and possibly a total eclipse. What I remember, other than the very cool darkness in the middle of the day, were the birds coming in to roost...that was really something for a kid to see. Everybody be careful with their eyes. There are a couple of simple contraptions a page or two down in this article that you can use to safely view a projected image of the eclipse: https://www.usatoday.com/story/graphics ... 747827007/

Yes, but Navarre and Isabeau are finally reunited in human form.

On another note, I'm building a viewing box to watch the eclipse. I forgot to get glasses in time.

I'll be outside for sure. Clouds are coming in though. I should still see 100 % totality. I hope I don't need an umbrella. :geek:

The sun is trying to peek through the clouds. Totality should be at 1:40. :)

If you're at a park or something with a bunch of people around, there might be someone with spare glasses!

Meanwhile we've driven an hour or two into the path of totality and have unexpectedly clear skies :D

Good article! I going to be out there with a colander. I suppose if I don't wear it on my head, it'll be all cool, right? And you were a kid in the 1970s? I thought you were old?! Humbug!

I just made one of the box-type viewers. It makes an image about a 1/4" big. Nice sharp edges, but small. ;)

Well, I was a kid before the 70's, too. But, no, I don't measure my age like *some* folks do in comparison to giant sequoia trees.

Well, It was just in totality in Dallas. At least the news channels are keeping cameras rolling. Otherwise we here in the PNW would not even know about it!!!

Where I was the clouds covered it so I only saw a glimpse of it an hour ago.

OK, stood out there with my colander. Amazing how few of the neighbors were around. Gotta say the whole thing was a bit disappointing, given all the hype. Or maybe because we only had 92% coverage. But no flocks of confused birds, no freaking out feral cats, no howling dogs, no four horseman. Well, to be fair, I did see a bagpiper, an accordion player, a banjo player and a bongo player (the four Musicians of the Apocalypse) but that's hardly the same thing, is it?
