I've been cutting off sphagnum heads to use as a top dressing for a few plants, and the sphagnum heads seem to continue to grow without any issues.

Will the headless sphagnum fibers continue to grow, and will new heads grow out of them? I haven't paid attention to this and don't have an answer but am curious.
