Is it common for Cobra Lily's to send up starts this late in the season? Do Cobra Lily's grow a hibernaculum? Even if that is what that one is, there seems to be one new start I did not see before.

Darlingtonia don't make a hibernaculum, they stay as they have grown in the summer over the winter, with older pitchers dying off in winter and spring, and new ones growing from stolons in spring.

What you have there looks very like a flower, but if you are in the Northern Hemisphere, why it is growing now is a bit of a mystery. If you are in the Southern Hemisphere then that would be normal.

Thanks for the info. I am south of Seattle. I was wondering if it might be a flower but thought the same thing, why now? Will have to just let it go and see.
