So I have grown Cephalotus inside, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to grow them outside in Iowa? Anyone have experience around this area growing them outside?

Yes, it's possible. Watch out for the heat though and the pests like aphids and scale, and before you bring them inside in the Fall be sure to treat them with a good systemic at least twice. How Cephs ever survive in nature I'll never know.

Would you place them in full sun, or partial shade? Can they tolerate days in the 90-100?

Partial shade. If it gets real hot the sun makes things worse, and you know it's going to get real hot.

Barely, but only for a little while. Cool nights can help some though.

One little tip, don't put your plants on anything that will heat up in the sun, like a deck, patio, black metal table etc., as this will heat things up even more and may keep them warm well into the evening when you want as much cooling as possible.
