Hi, I can't buy Distilled water and have no rain water. Can i water my venus flytraps and one more Carnivorus plant with tap water? I live in Poland and i don't know the water purity in tapes.

Check your water with a tds meter. Without that info no one can answer your question. 50 ppm is the max tds.

Tap water will kill your flytraps if the TDS is above 50 PPM. Find distilled water or look into buying a reverse osmosis system. Order a zero water pitcher, that produces good water for flytraps also. Start collecting rainwater as well.

But when i have no other option than tap water then what do i do?

If you have no other option then you have to use tap water. You can have 3 results. The plant dies quickly from very high dissolved solids in the water. The plant dies slowly from moderately high dissolved solids in the water. The plant grows fine. Unless you are lucky on well water, one of the first two options is the most likely. If you can order a TDS meter, I highly recommend it. Another option is an aquarium test kit that tests for general hardness (gH) and carbonate hardness (kH). Outside of that, you have no options.

Question, do you have a problem with calcium buildup in the toilet or the drains of the sink or tub?

I was of the understanding that anything under 100 was good. This is from a grower in CA that uses her tap water at their nursery.

If the water has a TDS of between 50 and 100 the plant needs to be repotted every year due to mineral build up in the soil mix.

I rarely see white deposits on pots. I read on the internet that the tap water is 70-150 ppm. I will go today to a market. If there is no Distilled water, i will use tap water.

Your tap water will slowly kill your flytraps at those levels I'm afraid.

I need to water them with tap water just once. I always used Distilled water but it wasnt avaliable in the market. Is watering them once will kill them? I have Two options: water them with tap water or no water at all
