When to do propagation

Hi I am wondering how old do pinguicula have to be to propagate because I bought 3 of my first pings and I’m wondering if they have to be at a certain age to propagate

Well, if it's large enough to take propagations off of. I'm assuming you are talking about growing them from leaf?

There's no specific "age" pings have to surpass to be able to propagate via pullings. The removal of a few extra leaves is less stressful for established, larger plants, though.

As long as there are enough leaves on the plant to not make it look “empty” when you take the pulling.

PS: Get a leaf that’s not dying but is also a good size and make sure to get the the whole leaf when you pull it.

I’m currently trying 3 methods of propagating pings. The leaves in lfs was an epic fail they got baked lol  Just started the paper towel and takeout sauce container thing method. The other is just putting the leaves in soil next to parent.

leaf cuttings are only possible on certain Mexicans for other species it is not possible.

use for mexicans preferably the leaves of plants still dormant they will have the energy to form buds
