I don't have it yet either that's why it's still a dream plant that could be worthy of cultivar status. It takes years to grow something out that just might be recognized. Need patience for sure. I ordered seeds of Hercules x big pink. And big pink x Hercules so I am praying one little seed makes my dream plant.
BTW. Big Pink is all red and albino capensis cross so matched with wide like Hercules I am hopeful :D
Yeah, maybe I'll need to order some seed too! Where did you get the seed from?
You have to pay attention to the seed bank. The stuff that's donated is quite interesting sometimes and I am so grateful to Shadowtski and Chef for making the fts seed Bank such a wonderful resource. Donate and share. It's great :D

Yeah, I'll need to keep my eye on that! I plan to donate some D. burmannii 'humpty doo' seeds when it flowers again. I still need to take his pic for the ABC giveaway.

You can get some really cool seeds from the seedbank. :D Thank you to everyone who has donated. Speaking of the whole hybridizing thing, anyone interested in some pollen?

Could I cross that with my D. burmanni "humpty doo'? I know they self-pollinate so will it still work? I'm assuming not.

The people at the ICPS did these crosses:
D. brevifolia x burmannii
D. burmannii x glanduligera

Good luck with your crossing. I hope you will be able to find some flowers or pollen. Remember to remove the anthers, and clean the stigma by spraying it thoroughly with water. :D

Don't forget the chromosome chart. Not everything is compatible to cross. Another biology class I probably skipped in school :ugeek:

You failed biology too? it's a chromosome chart. Not everything is going to work out. This chart is absolutely necessary to understand if you hope to cross drosera

I'm homeschooled and I'm only in 7th grade. I've never taken biology.

It's all good. Look at the chart. Things with similar chromosome numbers will be most likely compatible to cross. I know when I first looked at it I was confused. I'm an old lady now. You are young and smart. If you are serious about crossing plants. This chart is your friend :D

Oh, and I really want to try crossing my D. Anglica Alakai Swamp with my dreamsicles.... :)
Based on the chromosome chart that would really be a long short as far as compatibility. I looked at anglica and filiformis. Not sure the chart represents temperate vs tropical. But I still think that cross would be a non starter or a big long shot :?:

If I understand that chart correctly (which I probably don't), I unfortunately don't think there are very many plants I can cross my burmannii with  . Can I only cross them with plants that have the same colored lines?
