I received three plants on 7/8/2022 from @elaineo . The rootballs measured (I think it was) 104F degrees when I got them out of the mailing box. Four months later...

July 8th: Binata multifida extrema on the left, fresh out of the HOT box after making the trek across the continental USA in early July!!!! This is a photo of it and the (on the right) filiformis Florida Giant cooling down in some fresh rainwater after being unboxed...the binata is on the left. The filiformis did well, but it's getting ready to take a nap so no photos of it. ;)

November 13th: It seems to be catching a gear. :D

July 8th: This tokaiensis *almost* ended up a sad death in the garbage can. Thanks to elaineo mentioning it (she had slipped it in as a surprise) I dug the mailing box out of the garbage can and found a secret compart inside the box (actually it was a condiment container carefully taped to the inside of the box!!!! ;) ) It made the cross-country trek in better shape than the two others...and was the tiniest one!!!

November 12: The tiny tokaiensis is a red, sparkling jewel now and has a flower scape that has shot up and has several buds on it. There were three plants all total and I just left them in the pile they were in when they arrived...they seem to be doing ok crowded together.

Looking forward to things even getting better down the road!!! :)

Your sundews look better than lots of mine! Where do you grow them (outdoors, under lights)?

They've been inside for a little over three weeks now, the rest of the time they were in full sun for probably 4-5 hours and then bright shade the rest of the time. I've had a mix of 4' long fluorescent that I used for years for my vegetable seedlings. I've lost my fluorescents over the last 2-3 years...the last one actually today. So now, all the shop lights are Walmart LEDs. The binata has been beneath the shop lights since being indoors. Probably 5-6 inches below the lights.

The tokaiensis is under different lights...they are actually some screw-in garage lights that have three small 2x4 inch LED panels on them...8000 lumens and 5000k temp. They are bright white...and put off a bit of heat. The tokaiensis seems to enjoy it as do some filiformis leaf cutting sprouts, the brevifolias, and the capillaris that I have. These are around 12 inches below the lights.
