I have a 15” cube tank that I’m trying to increase the temp in for petiolaris drosera. Ambient room temp is currently at 80f during the day and I can get (parts)of the tank to 85-87 with a small reptile heat light but I’m limited by the hot and cold spots that it produces and annoyed by the short bulb life. They seem to only last a few weeks and aren’t cheap. My current one just burned out at 2 weeks :(
Once it gets to November my ambient room temp will be more like 65f so I’ll need to increase the tank heat by 20+, not just the 5-7 degrees that the reptile light can do.
It’s a rimless tank with a foam leveling pad glued to the bottom so I’m not sure that a heat mat underneath would do much. There is a glass lid that covers about 2/3, the rest is open for air circulation. I don’t currently have a fan on it.
Suggestions, recommended products (USA), and pics of your setups would be appreciated!
