Hello. I just wanted to share my experience this past winter with a large collection of VFT’s that I keep over winter on my deck in North Georgia, USDA Zone 7b.
My 6 inch deep pots stay on a table, and over the Christmas weekend the temperature remained bitter cold for an extended period, recording a low of 5F.
My plants emerged from dormancy seemingly unscathed, and are growing normally.
I have lived in this area for more than 20 years, and the low temperature for an entire winter rarely goes below 20 F. Have I possibly established a new hardiness reference for these amazing plants? Anyone have Charles Darwin’s email address?
