This is what happens when you use a clear pot/container to grow utricularia.

All of these plants sprouted underground. I also need to cut off the flower stalks (one is about a yard in length  ).

One more thing, thank you @hollyhock for these plants.

Wow, never had that happen with utrics but it keeps happening with my binata "small red forms". It's very annoying

These plants were just sitting in a corner and quietly multiplying, while my binatas (which I check almost every day) are currently growing a bit slow. It's like my plants are shy and only grow when I don't look at them. :? I hope yours grow well. :)

Thanks! My binatas actually grow pretty quick (compared to my other dews) but they just feel really slow and picky about their conditions. They are all crammed into a small pot and the roots have reached the bottom already against the side of the pot in the light. When I repot them in January, I'll try to get all the babies out and give them away.

Even if your binatas are growing slow, just be happy that you can get a utric to grow. I love utricularia but my sandersonii is very persnickety and usually unhappy so I'm afraid to get more. The leaves look pretty yellow but the soil is pretty hard. I did get it from somebody who is know for not having the best soil. I guess I just need to repot him too

@TrapsAndDews: Just look on the bright side -- they're growing really well for you. I often have trouble with Utricularia, unfortunately.

Not terribly uncommon for someone to use a mix that works well for them but not for someone else. So go ahead and do the repot. Also, if the leaves are yellowish you might be giving it too much light.

U. livida is one I find incredibly easy.

I just moved it to a space with a little less light. It was directly under the lights so hopefully it helps! Thanks!
