Fly Traps come from a cooler climate then Lodi, A greenhouse would only be good for waking them up early. The amount of light they need would turn that thing into a oven.

I can keep the Flytraps outside like I have been. Would I benifit with the Sundew and Nepenthes?

If North American sundews its in the same boat as a VFT.

Nepenthes have a wide elevation range and some are very picky when it comes to temps and humidity. I have 20+ but they are all EZ growers or hybrids with at least one EZ grower in the mix. I just put them under a tree in the summer and in the window in the winter.

To awser the question unless its climate controlled shaded green house Nepenthes most likely not do well.

Thank you for the input. The reasoning for the greenhouse is because my kitchen window faces the west. I only only get a few hours of evening sun. I have no east facing windows. I do get a lot of sun on the back of the house. I can put them there. Thats where I currently have my VFT's. I was mis informed on the care of Sundews and Nepenthes. I will have to do some more research.

My only concern is we get in the tripple digits alot during the summer. Can the Nepenthes and Sundews survive in that temp outside?

I have a heated garage that I can put them in the winter and add a growlight for the winter.
My Nepenthes are all hybrids.
Vivid Machine
Lovely Spirit
Valiant Beast
and my Sundew is a Drosera capensis

The Capensis like household temps i suggest the west facing window, as long as you get some direct sun it will do fine. Your summer heat will make them look really ratty looking.

The Nepenthes being hybrids you can look up the parents to get a idea of the range they could handle. In the winter i keep mine in a west window. Some i have to hide behind other plants to block light.

The Fly traps i would leave outside year round. I am sure someone in a Southern California can chime in on how they deal with peak summer temps.
