This is going to be a multiple post thread about my dormancy setup. I will start with photos here with just a basic description and then move to detailed info about each photo. I prop the lid open during the day when not too cold to provide some air exchange. Always closed at night.

Note that I use the TUYA smart life app as my setup is a smart setup. This is so I can see exactly what is happening at anytime without having to go into my garage a check. I can check from my phone or ipad.

Some of the smart life setup will likely get rather detailed since I have multiple things (temp, light, backup, etc) controlled via the smart devices.

This is the coleman cooler I use. Grow lights are on.
Inside the cooler. Shows the usb powered lights, the heat mat, a tuya smart thermometer, and the temperature sensor to the smart thermostat powering the heat mat. The plant sit directly on the heat mat. Cords are threaded thru the drain hole.

The smart thermostat configuration showing on and off temperatures for the heat mat. This runs 24/7 to control the temperature. The stop temp is fairly low as the cooler continues to warm a bit after shut off.

So how many plants will one cooler hold?

I just do 3 pots of vfts, and a couple of large Amaryllis bulbs..

I have way too many plants to go that route but for a few plants then that is a great setup.
