I just picked these up at a local Grocery Outlet chain. First time I have found in a store other than Walmart and that was years ago. They are from Rocket Farms out of CA. I must say, for $4.99 a pot I am impressed. Although only typicals they are nice looking plants. It looked like the store was trying by keeping them in the sunniest area available during the day and watering properly. I am thinking someone from Rocket Farms schooled them or someone at the store knows about them. I was cleaning them up and noticed there are between 8 and 14 plants in each pot. So roughly 50 plants for $19.96 or about $.40 each. Heck, I should go back and make an offer on the 20 or so left, acclimate, re pot and sell.

They came in humidity containers about 10 inches tall. I put them back in and placed outside in the shade to let them acclimate. They have small holes on the top that I may enlarge so bugs can get in. I should hopefully have my greenhouse up soon and can move them in there.

Dang and a flower to boot! The Rocket ones always look so twisty and wild when they’re potted.

You lucky duck. Mine from Lowe’s are all growing well and showing vastly different growth, but no flowers yet :(

Did the container say where they were from?

Rocket Farms flytraps are pretty common in grocery stores around where I live. They typically make thin leaves with small, but many traps. They also make new growth points pretty quickly.

Great find, and nice looking VFTs! My local Lowe's in Louisiana usually only have dead plants! Once in a great while I've gotten some nice ones. Rocket Farms plants not available where I live.

Well last night I sorted hundreds of pictures on my phone so I could give my plants their own albums, so I actually have easy access to the pics in the boxes. I honestly didn’t pay attention. Bug Biting Plants.

They were floppy things coming out of the box, and most of them I had to prune all the leaves off. I didn’t do any acclimation, so the original leaves and traps died back to nothing from sunburn, but now they all look fantastic. I have a giant in there that’s pretty cool, and one with the sawtooth look. One that has super red almost purple in the traps, a rosette, one that’s like rosette and growing upwards at the same time.

They’re all so different and beautiful, but no flowers. I guess it’s late for them anyhow isn’t it? Probably when they were supposed to flower was when they were cut back. But it seems like it was worth it. <3

What a great find! Rocket Farms grows really nice plants! Part of me regrets not nabbing one of their pitcher plants when they came in with the initial shipment of VFTs at our local store.

The Rocket Farms typical was my first VFT and it's been a fantastic starter plant, it seems very hardy considering it tolerated all my newbie mistakes with little fuss. I got it late February and this is what it looks like today. It came with huge traps with dark red inner leaves and these aren't as dark or large, I'm wondering if that will be something to look forward to closer to fall.

The nursery sticks their plants under LED grow lights for a few weeks to redden up. This isn't the plants' normal color under natural sunlight.

The plants are still suffering from a "tissue-culture hangover". It takes a while for the chemicals to wear off. Until then, you get divisions galore.

These plants may be "just Typicals", but I've gotten some very nice flytraps from Rocket Farms and Bug Biting Plants.

Very nice. I love the one with the deep red traps. That’s definitely a score!
