Really loving the dark coloration on these two, especially ‘Brunswick Beauty’ which is super stunning.

Gorgeous. What kind of lights do you have those under? In full sun my Brunswick Beauty gets very red, but not dark purple like that.

They’re beneath BESTVA 1000 watt hanging tent lights. My Sarracenia and Dionaea love it. I believe you can get them darker if you grow them in an outdoor greenhouse.

For comparison, here's a pic of my purpurea venosa 'Big Fib' ('Brunswick Beauty' is one of its parents) growing under the open sky in eastern North Carolina. That's an 8-inch / 20-centimeter pot. When cold weather rolls in, the pitchers get much darker.

Yes, it's from Mike Wang's attempt to make a red purp that isn't as fussy and slow-growing as the full-blooded 'Brunswick Beauty'. The offspring from that cross were circulated under that name.

To be honest, there are many beautiful, red, ruffled purps in Brunswick County, North Carolina.

I did some digging in my picture collection. Here is what 'Big Fib' looked like when I received it: And here is what it looked like 18 months later, after having gone through 2 winter dormancies (I got it in September): You can barely see any green at the base of the pitchers.
