To what point can you cross pollinate?

Say for example I wanted to cross H. Minor x S. Flava. Could I do this since they’re in the same family or do they have to be in the same genus?

They need to be in the same genus.

Intergeneric crosses have been done successfully with members of the Orchid Family. However, I know of no such occurrences amongst the 9 major carnivorous plant Families. Furthermore, even crosses within a genus (intrageneric) are not necessarily possible. There are a number of Drosera species which cannot be crossed, for example.
